Whenever you hear about Ramayana you always think about how the stones with Ram Name can float on water? Generally normal stones drown in water then why Ram Named stones don't drown? There is one city Called Rameshwaram present in Andhra Pradesh state. According to Ramayana, Shri Ram and his army of monkey's wrote Shri Ram on stones and that stones floated on water at this place. Ram setu was made from these stones on which they walked and reached Lanka.
Today also you can find some stones which can float on water at coastal regions of Rameshwaram. Many archeologists believe that these are Pumice rocks. These are the type of stones that are made from a volcanic eruption and that inherently float in water. But something to think about is that Pumice rocks are found near places where a volcanic eruption has occurred. There is no proof of possible volcanic eruption in the coastal regions of Rameshwaram in history also. There is no volcanic eruption, still the stones present there float on water. It's because Ravan was a Rishi Putra and also a scholarly Brahmin. He had done penance for Lord Shankar and gained many blessings. He also had full knowledge of Shastra and Vedas. In the city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, a temple of Ravan is made that opens once in a year. People's present there believe that Ravan was born on the tithi of Dussehra and also he died on the same tithi. On every Dussehra, people there worship him and burn his statue during the evening. After that this temple closes and opens again directly on the next Dussehra.
